INTRODUCTION

Wardha where Mahatma Gandhi spent his prime phase of  his freedom struggle and inspired women to come forward to shoulder responsibility in the freedom movement, is a place of great  historical significance.

​

Priyadarshini Mahila Mahavidyalaya, established in 1989 by Amar Sewa Mandal, Nagpur. Later in 1991 Shri Bapuraoji Deshmukh Foundation took over the college. One of the dreams of Gandhiji was also to emancipate the women and their participation in all walks of life. This education institution is contributing to the realization of this dream in its own way.

Priyadashini Mahila Mahavidyalaya, which is the only college for women students, is affiliated to Rastasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. It is a state government aided institute and has been recognized by the UGC under 2 (f) and 12 (b). Since its establishment the college has made a steady and sustaintial progress both academically and potentially. The college is accredited at ‘B’ level by NAAC.
